Knowing what to do isn't always the hard part.

Sometimes the assignment, the email, the workout, or the thing you've been meaning to do just keeps getting pushed to later. Nokoto is built around that difficult moment between deciding to do something and actually beginning.

How Nokoto works

Try it: type a task, then press Start. It all runs in your browser, so nothing you type is saved or sent. In the app, Nokoto also suggests the first step for you.

  1. What do you want to get done?

Just the task. Nokoto finds the first step.

Capture what you need to do

Say it, type it, or snap a photo or screenshot. You check the task before it's saved, and that's the whole plan.

  2. Late night

    Monday, October 26

    First step

    Finish physics lab

    Open your physics lab document

    Find your first small step

Nokoto suggests a first step small enough to do right now, like opening the document.

  3. Finish physics lab

    Open your physics lab document

    02:00

Press Start in step 2 to begin.

    Start before you overthink it

When you're ready, press Start and give it two minutes. Keep going if it's working. If not, the start still counts.

Built for the moment you almost give up starting.

Most apps show you everything you haven't done. Nokoto keeps one next step in front of you and puts the rest somewhere quieter.

  • Nokoto's Now screen: one task, Finish physics lab, its first step and a Start button.

    Now

One task and its first step. Nothing else competes for your attention.

  • Nokoto's Later screen: a week of days with Go to the gym on Tuesday and a dentist call on Thursday.

    Later

Everything else waits here by day, until you move it to Now.

  • Nokoto's Progress screen: "You started 1 thing this week. That counts."

    Progress

Counts the days you started, not the lists you finished.

Made for starting, not for planning.

  • Start small

Make the first action feel manageable instead of facing the whole task at once.

  • Know what to do next

Swap a vague intention for one clear action you can take now.

  • Keep things simple

Spend your time on the work, not on organizing it.

  • Build momentum

Small starts add up. You don't have to wait until you feel motivated.

Your next step starts here.

Nokoto is on its way.

About Nokoto

What is Nokoto?

Nokoto is an upcoming iPhone app that helps you turn what you need to do into a small first step, so starting feels easier.

How is Nokoto different from a regular to-do list?

A to-do list records and organizes tasks. Nokoto is built around the moment you need to stop putting one off: it shows one task at a time, gives you a first step small enough to do right away, and starts a short two-minute timer when you choose to begin.

When will Nokoto launch?

Nokoto is still being prepared for launch, and the release date hasn't been announced.

Will Nokoto be available on iPhone and Android?

Nokoto is currently being built for iPhone. An Android version is planned, but its release date has not yet been announced.

Is Nokoto free?

The Founding 100 beta is live now. Nokoto will be free during its first 60 days of beta testing. Once we reach 100 users and gather their feedback, we'll introduce two plans: a weekly plan at US$5.99 (CA$7.99 in Canada), and a yearly plan at US$29.99 (CA$39.99 in Canada) with a 7-day free trial. That pricing is final and starts when the beta ends.

How can I contact the Nokoto team?

Email support@nokoto.app. The support page has the details.
